Business Operations Manager

What we’re looking for: An operations leader with accounting experience who wants to help Street Plans achieve its next phase of growth. The ideal candidate has experience helping a small business scale by creating and running effective operational systems. 

Finance & Accounting 

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable
  • Manage project invoices, helping staff track and invoice project expenses
  • Manage company payroll and benefits program 
  • Help Street Plans run cost efficiently and assist with regular financial planning
  • Look for ways to improve accounting systems and processes 

Operational Support 

  • Be the first point of contact for Street Plans for incoming media, business development, and employment inquiries
  • Support project proposal development to drive business development   
  • Manage the firm’s staff travel logistics for client projects   
  • Light schedule support for firm’s two Principals

Marketing 

  • Support social media and other digital marketing efforts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Update/manage the company’s website, especially our News and project Description pages
  • Support project proposal development 
    • Update bios, resumes, and project descriptions, and project imagery
    • Fill out required government forms
    • Submit digital and/or print proposals via email, FedEx etc.

Experience 

  • Min. 3-5 years experience supporting small to midsize business operations (experience w/ urban planning or design/architecture experience or other creative fields a big plus) 
  • Strong client or customer-facing experience 
  • Project management experience – used to drive projects from research to implementation 
  • Experience supporting accounting function, both accounts payables and receivables, following up with clients, sub-consultants, vendors, contractors, etc. 
  • Experience with tracking and reporting operations workflows – i.e. expense and hours tracking processes, supporting teams in administrative workflows

  • Adobe Indesign and/or other Adobe Creative Suite skills a big, big plus

Salary and Benefits

  • $60,000 – $75,000 / yr (depending on experience and skills)
